The school was established in 1989 by W. & J.B. Wilkie and daughter Claire Elliott, who is Head Directress. The building, Popels Hall, is in a rural village setting with easy access to and from Ascot, Bracknell, Binfield, Sunningdale, Maidenhead and Windsor. There is a large off-road car park area.

Security

The car park and the school entrance are covered by video surveillance cameras. The garden play area is also confined and secured.

Equal Opportunities

Children have a right to grow up in an environment free from prejudice and without discrimination.

We aim to meet the needs of all children in our care in accordance with their stage of development and value them as individuals. We try to provide opportunities for each child to explore his/her identity and to build on his/her self esteem.

School Curriculum

The school functions on a ratio of one member of staff to every six pupils. We place a strong emphasis on Language, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic and Geography. There are termly topics, e.g. Dinosaurs, Endangered Species, Flags of the World and Planets.

A computer is also available to develop IT skills and in complete contrast we have also introduced cookery lessons, as well as twice weekly French lessons.

Record Keeping

Each child, during their time with us, has a comprehensive school report, which is regularly updated. This is available for parents to study and discuss with the Directress at a convenient time to both parties.

Parents Evening

There is one main parents evening annually with intermediate individual appointments throughout each term,. However, the Principals and staff are always willing and approachable to discuss any day-to-day matters.

Government Funding and Ofsted

We can offer Government funding for three and four year old children and The School has recently had a successful Ofsted inspection.
